Hello all! I read in a previous post that if the engine is not
turning
over evenly and smoothly that this indicates a loss of compression in
one or more cylinders. Well, my poor car is indeed turning over
unevenly now. So I am guessing I need to do a compression check.
Anyone
have any handy advise? I understand that I need to get a gauge that
can
handle the high compression of the diesel and that I need to come up
with some sort of adapter so I can utilize the holes for the glow
plugs. What are the most common causes of an immediate loss of
compression? If it is a bent valve how hard are they to replace? I
hope
it is not a hole in a cylinder or something really bad. I think I
need
to just order the shop book on the car. As always thanks in advance
for
any advise, this forum is great! Kelly
