15X6 steel rims from a 505 with 195/60/15 (total wheel diameter 24.2
inches). (I am not allowed to re-drill the hub, I have to stay with
Peugeot steel rims). This is a little shorter than the stock height
175/80/14 on 14X5 rims (total wheel diameter 25 inches) and it reduces
top speed by nearly 10% but acceleration, cornering and braking are
better. It also shows As for your aluminum spacer idea, it is a very
good one. I am having a set made for the coupe (even with 175's the
front tires still rub against the spring mount after my camber
"adjustments), 1 cm wide for the front wheels, 2.5 cm wide for the back,
and like you, I hope they will be plenty strong.

Hi Thanos,
I love your hill climb concept for the 504!
I'm wondering what your plans for wheels and tires are? If you succeed
with the widened stance - fitting the standard wheels with the limited
width wheels will still likely limit your cornering traction.
Can you re-drill the hubs or run some sort of adapter? (I'm guessing
re-drilling the hubs would be the safest.) I've designed a spacer that
I plan to machine out of aluminum - not sure I'd want to run it in
competition though, although it should be plenty strong.
