[Peugeot-L] '89 Mi16 AirCon Problem

Hello,
I had the problem last year, and one expert here said I needed a new expansion valve.
Symptom: when engaging or disengaging the AC, the engine will die at low RPM or jolt at higher rev's. Now, the system is fully charged, all of the pressures are OK, there are no blockages. The car very acts similarly when the compressor is disconnected and the switch is engaged. Any thoughts on this one? I know it's probably a electrical problem. Thanks.
Bill
