[Peugeot-L] 505 - Series II interior - lower glove box latch

Anyone had any recent or enduring success dealing with the plastic part of the latch (the part that seems to be moulded to the dashboard, not the metal sliding tang that is on the door? Mine decided to snap last night.

There aren't too many things about a 505 that annoy me, but looking at how this was designed doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Still, it was on my 86 turbo wagon, and the lower glove box, being of generous proportions, has had to carry a lot of weight in it for the last 20 years.

BTW, I gave two of my wagons a good run yesterday - 250 miles each. Both are approaching 200,000 miles, the 88 ZDJL wagon ran smoothly and happily; the N9TE ran lustily, although I am dealing with some spurious low coolant warning lights on the latter. Coolant level seems fine; perhaps there is a bubble of air in there somewhere. Cycling the heater thermostat can often extinguish the light.
