I have an 87 505 STX (6 cyl) with approx. 177K miles. Inspection ran
out the end of June and I've chosen not to do the work to keep it
going. I don't think it would have been much. The worst issue is a
knocking at the rear. I believe it was a U-joint in the half shaft
but I never really looked into it. The only other issues were a
slight
coolant leak (didn't run hot but the coolant was always low-radiator
upper tank leak). AC has a leak but it had worked a year ago, and the
sunroof is off the track. Paint is pretty much gone. Auto
transmission
was rebuilt at 80000 and is great. The engine was still strong and
ran
well other than a fuel smell (something was leaking, perhaps a dried
out fuel line?). Peugeots have served me well (18 years and only 2
cars) but its getting difficult to find time to do the work myself.
I would like $300 for the car which can be driven away but it is not
