[Peugeot-L] 505 bumper styles

There is no benefit in arguing over matters of taste, but have you considered the advantages of the massive North American bumpers on the 80-88 505s and the 74 and later 504s?. My 84 wagon was hit hard enough that the Ford Aerostar van that rear-ended it split its bumper from end to end. Damage to my car: none. I have push started my car with those bumpers, without a scratch to either the pusher or the pushee. I'm not sure the Euro bumpers - or even the 89 and later ones in North America could take that sort of abuse and still look unscathed. For one thing, they don't have the 6 or so inches of space between the bumper and the bodywork. Frankly, I think the NA spec (5 mph) bumpers look sexy - but then that is only one person's opinion.
