The XD2C is a non-turbo block that has all of the castings of the turbo, so it can be used
for the application. The "C" stands for California, as this engine was the one with all
of the EGR crap on it. Things like the turbo oil return is present but filled with a
copper plug. The bearing size in the block itself is identical to a regular XD2 block. A
turbo XD2 crank is interchangeable with non-turbo because the bearing sizes and overall
dimensions fit, except for the connecting rod bearings - they're much larger to
accommodate the turbo pistons. What confuses me is that you say the throws are too big.
Having turbo'd a non-turbo engine using a mix of parts (XD2, XD2C, XD2S) I find this the
most troubling. I think it may be a dead giveaway that the crank really isn't from an XD2
engine after all. Maybe XD3 series? Didn't they have a longer through?
Senen.

Possibly the XD2C ? I think that was the non turbo one that was available
on the 505 early on. Don't know for sure.
