Re: [Peugeot-L] ZDJL performance upgrades

Specific engine specs I unfortunately can't help with. I've never even seen a 505 with the ZDJL motor!

What I would suggest is logging onto Aussie Frogs and(www.aussiefrogs.com) posing the question there. The only advice I'd take is from people that have done the work on their own cars. They are a great bunch of guys and should be able to point you in the right direction. Dave McBean's 5 -oh site might also be of help - he had specs for the 504 cams and might have contacts for the ZDJL.

If you can't find good info on the motor my next stop would be the cam grinding shop. There's one in Canada and when speaking to the owner I knew that this guy knew exactly what worked and what didn't. I was looking at getting a cam re-ground for the XN6 - and he made some suggestions that would give me what I wanted...

If you find someone with enough experience - they'll know what will work.

As for fuel - L-Jet isn't going to cut it with a wilder cam. I think DCOE's would be a nice choice - but again - I'd be looking for someone who's been there done that. Renault had a derivative of the motor as well so I'd check that route as well - find whatever info you can find on the motor and see what works best for you. Stock L-jet injectors would likely cut it flow wise (or maybe a slight increase), but changing the timing curve and the pulse widths would be necessary to provide the proper control to get max power. A stand alone ECU would be great if you wanted to stay with FI - otherwise some nice sdie drafts would be a pretty cool alternative. Not sure wha the timing control is - if manual you could get the distributor re-curved. (Megasquirt is an option if you have the resourses and the time.)

Not much help I know - but I wouldn't even want to guess what would work without researching what others have done. ----- Original Message -----
