RE: [Peugeot-L] Poor taste and adding to the debate

Looking at the pictures i think says something about the 505 quality. Maybe not in the rust department but construction wise it was the better car and then looking at the weight of both cars you'd think the SUV would have minor scratches and the 505 totalled.

Onderwerp: [Peugeot-L] Poor taste and adding to the debate

I offered at listmate some help by taking some pix of Euro bumpers on a 505, but I received a private email not from the original poster, as to all the faults of my own Euro car. I might politely add that it is poor taste to criticize an owner's car in that context. Why is that some feel they should point out alleged faults in another's car where the first owner was only trying to help another listmate. Why should we participate in that. I do believe my car is the only 505SR in the US, and I rescued it from salvage, and spent well over $5000 in restoration of which I am not finished. So in my offering to take pictures of the Euro bumper mounts to a Euro spec car I received a private email as to how my car did not meet his private taste as a so- called purist for a Euro car (to which I disagree). I rant, only because we should not downgrade each others cars. Please, put this in mind before you email each other. Lets not criticize each other's cars. Our support of each other makes best for the Peugeot community. Rant over. Thank you.

As to the debate about Euro Bumpers versus U.S. Spec, the 505 is a great car whatever. Following is a link to my crashed 505 diesel. The other driver blew a stop sign in her brand new, less than 6 months old, Ford Escape SUV. She was belted and air-bagged. I did not have my belt on. I walked away. Heck, the Peugeot was still running after the impact. And her brand new SUV was totaled. Her front wheel almost fell clean off. Despite her air bag and seat belt, she was helicoptered to the hospital in critical condition. I suffered only a neck strain. I attribute lots of this to my well designed 505.
