RE: [Peugeot-L] Fuel tank problems - 86 505TD

Check if it's hard to open your fuel cap and if there
is a release of pressure when you do. We use to have   vent lines get clogged or have the wrong fuel cap,   and the fuel tank would actually collapse. We would   then fix the problem, and using a rag to seal off the
fuel tank filler neck, we would use compressed air to
blow the tank back out. Whatever kind of diesel you   are using, it tends to grow algae in the tanks; so   you have to use a good quality additive. It's been   awhile since I've been involved in this, but Red Line
used to have a good additive. I also wanted to   mention the other day about chemicals for various   reasons-carbon intake cleaners, valve cleaners, oil   leak stoppers for engines that work and cause no   problems, and diesel fuel additives. It's a German   brand called Lubri-Moly, and the only place I know   to buy them is from The Brinson Co. which has offices
in New Orleans, Houston, and Chicago. They're also   great for Grey market car parts and OEM but cheaper   prices for M.B., Volvo, and BMW parts. Ask for Tom   in New Orleans-he's very well informed.
