Hi from Athens, Greece. I just picked up a 1987 505 STI 5-speed today
for $2500. Brakes, e-brake and triangle arms and ball joints need total
rebuild and there is a bunch of dents (no tin-worm though) on the body
but the engine pulls strong and the suspension works great. Clutch is a
bit heavy but the gearbox is as smooth as one has the right to expect
from a Peugeot. Interior is trashed but I got some extra stuff around,
and it came with an extra radiator, extra headlights, 4 steel and 4
alloy wheels. I put a deposit on the car sight unseen two weeks ago when
I was told it had the XN6 motor with the BA7/5 and the J differential
but now that it has been delivered it seems to be a ZDJL. (I found it
in an ad and it came from the north of Greece). I need to know a bit
more about this car and the dealer here is no help because it is one of
only two STI's left in Greece from the handful that were imported and
the other one is a 5 speed XN6. The number on the production plate is
551A161095850. Does anyone know what it means? Any information will be
greatly appreciated.
