The injectors are nothing like the Kugelfischer system in my XN2 1973
504 coupe and the engine is not as slanted. The mixture for each
injector seems to be adjustable with an allen key and I seem to recall
wires. The fuel return lines are on the left as you look at the car and
the injection manifold by the battery on the right. Any clues from the
VIN?

It's probably ZDJL which replaced XN6 since the 1986 model year.
XN6 was still offered in some country in some trim level (or was it a
variation of XN6?) but not in STI trim I believe. Also it's easy to
distinguish these two engines. Does the fuel injectors have electrical
connectors and wires plus injector rail (ZDJL) or metal pipes instead
(mechanical injection on XN6)?
