Hi,
I just solved my 604 TD's problem with the use of another car battery. The
old one obviously has suffered a total broken-down. The only little
miracle remains why I was not able to get the car's electric come to life
with the jump-starter cables going directly from the other car's battery
to the Peugeots main + and - wires, with the malfunctioning Peugeot
battery completely disconnected. I tried two different sets of
jump-starter cables, both of them are fairly new so it's unlikely that
they both did not work.
However, the new battery immediately solved the problem, making me very
glad :-) After pre-glowing, the car started immediately and the idle was
immediately perfect. Just if I had it parked there only yesterday. Now
that's what I call Peugeot Diesel quality :-)
I did not realise that I left a CD in the player from last summer's
holidays (I was in France and Spain with the 604)... when it started after
a few seconds, I was immediately captured by those holiday's memories.
regards
Thomas
