[Peugeot-L] Re: 505 series 2 dash Question

The removal of that console isn't that bad, provided you know where the bolts are. There are two Phillips head horizontal bolts- one behind the funny trapezoidal cover, and one behind the ashtray. To remove that cover, insert a thin knife blade or like on the left (wide) side, and pry gently trying not to mar the surface of the plastic.

There are two little phillips screws holding the radio holder, and three 8mm bolts which are vertical, and located at the bottom of the console.

The three bolts at the bottom can be real bugaboo's to put back in. I know I fiddled with mine for a while to get them started. You might try just loosening them, to see if you can get the console back enough to access the switches. I don't know.

The horizontal bolts have a Phillips head, and I have encountered ones that have been really tight. So tight that the Phillips rounds off. I resorted to drilling out the head of the bolt and replacing it with another metric that had the same threads, but with an 8mm hex head (once the head of the bolt is gone, the console comes back, and then one can take some pliers to remove the rest of the bolt).
