Check for electrical continuity between opposite tabs on the switch
in N or P (those will be the N-S safety switch). The remaining pair
of terminals will be the reverse light, should have continuity with
the shift lever in R. If the switch won't work because it is just
worn, try removing the washer and screwing the switch in a bit
further than it would go with the washer. If it works then, thin the
washer down by rubbing on a file or sanding block.
I have a used switch if you need one.
