Hello folks

I am taking part in a charity rally to Banjul, capital of the Gambia in Africa from Morecambe, uk at christmas. (www.hamsteradventures.com)

As its for charity we are on a major budget and so our vehicle is a donated Peugeot 205 1.1 (1990) LHD. It has to be left hand drive for the import regs as it will be auctioned in africa to rasie more cash.

Anyway the vehicle needs some work to pass its mot and i was wondering if anyone could help!

  1. The doors wont lock. one door the key wont turn at all and the other locks but u cant get the key out unless u unlock it!? Can this be remedied with some fiddling as i dont want to buy new locks! The mechanisms from the handles seem fine.
  2. I have been told the valve stem seals have gone. Is this an easy and cheap job to fix and do you know of any source of good info on how to do this?
  3. I was told the brake lines need replacing but im not sure this is true. I have jacked each wheel and they seem fine although the back left wheel doesnt rotate freely. It seems as tho the drumbrake is stuck on- any ideas?

Thanks allot for your help... For more info on the rally check out www.hamsteradventures.com
