Assuming it's like a 1963 404, it's held in place by a grease nipple. Anyway, what I did when changing the centre bearing on my former 1963 404 was unscrew the grease nipple and get a really long piece of thick wood dowel and pounded it out from the gearbox side with a hammer. It was messy as hell, with all this spent 25 year old grease pouring out, so you are warned.

Putting the new one in was similar, but as it neared its "home" position, I did smaller taps so the centre of the bearing didn't overshoot the grease nipple hole.
