Yes, T'was me. My thanks to TJ for spotting it. I'm new to 405's and,
without even an owners manual, am groping with a few issues I'm hoping
are only related to prolonged storage. There's one or two slight
parking lot dents on the drivers side rear door and quarter panel the
rest of the body looks new. Interior is perfect or as near to new as
I've ever seen.
Now for the troubling:
On the drive home the Stop/ overheat light came on. Rad looks new/ but
is cool to touch, though both side tanks are boiling. How can that
happen?
The other thing I noticed is that the water temp gauge is non
functioning / but the red circle (oveheat) indicator on the gauge came
on with the "Stop" warning. I added a bit of water to the rad and It
did fine the rest of the way home.
For all you guys familiar with this engine could you guide me through
possibly finding the water temp sensor/waterpump so I can track down if
it's just a disconnected wire or not. Or perhaps something else? I'm
flying blind here until I can track down a manual.
Anyone have a spare 405 owners manual or Haynes 405 2nd edition
(purple) repair manual they'd like to sell?
Peat
P.S. My apologies to the guy from B.C. (hope it wasn't someone from
this list) who took a look at it Sunday afternoon after me and seemed
to have wanted it more than I did. There was an agreement reached when
I left Sunday I just couldn't get the cash til Monday.
