Hello Brian,
on an 82 505TD
I looked in the trunk.
I pulled the back seat out.
I tried.
I fed fuel hose into the trunk from underneath.
Disconnected wires.
I loosened the fuel tank by whatever mounting it had and freed the tank by
the filler door.
Then with my rather l;arge selection of 1/4 and 3/8" drive stuff and
wrenches.
My somewhat large German hands then replaced the rear shocks.
