That's a bad ground connection at the left tail-light assembly.
I've "fixed" it by pulling the connector and sanding the contacts--
both plug and socket--with fine sandpaper, spreading some dielectric
grease and putting back together. It stays fixed for a year or two.
(Apparently it's always the left side. Proximity to the exhaust,
perhaps.)
Others have replaced connectors, which, I imagine, makes it stay fixed
longer.
