I think the water pump behaves about the same on both xn6 and n9t. I did one several years ago, but I can't remember which it was. Some bear parts, but what's new!?

The timing chain is another matter. They rattle, or sound like they are rattling, even when just replaced. I replaced one of those that was annoying me, only to hear it exactly the same way since as before! Unless you are having timing issues that can be traced to the chain, I'd live with it, just as diesel drivers live with the idiosyncratic sounds of their engines. I wouldn't think that one could shave enough off the head to affect the timing chain's voice, but someone with more experience in that can straighten me out.
