Somebody has probably loaded the cooling system with leak pluggers to stop the heater
core from leaking.
Unless the plugger is installed according to instructions the mess you have will result.
I would pull the rad an take it to a rad shop.
They may have to remove an end tank and "rod it out"
Or call TJ and see if he has a spare rad
The coolant MUST be changed ever 2 years and use DISTILLED water
to mix wth new antifz.
The heater core will probably be plugged and junk.
Don't even think about using a used one.

Subject: [Peugeot-L] 1991 405 MI 16 update
Here's an update on my new Mi 16.
Turns out the coolant is rusty muck and the radiator is probably packed
up with the stuff. I'll try the reverse flush method on the rad and
also flush out the engine tomorrow, does this method also get the
heater core? Am I looking at replacing the heater core sometime down
the line? The rad appears to have a core which is some sort of non
rusting alloy. If so what is rusting?
Looking for any bits of wisdom, tips, tricks or suggestions to get the
coolant passageways as clean as possible.
TIA
Peat
