The radiator cap use a thick flat piece of rubber in the recess of the
cap. When I did the job I installed a new rubber gasket, but not the
cap. The cap is very hard to get on to the radiator and too difficult
to get on to my Stant ST-255 cap tester. I have a brand new spare cap.
Perhaps I will give it a try.
