Re: [Peugeot-L] Oil leak at the front of the engine

Hi there,

The XN series motors really don't have a seal - and it usually works very nicely indeed. When they do leak it means that the PCV system is plugged which is causing the motor to build pressure which essentially blows the oil out.

Where you fill the motor with oil is where the PCV filter is - pop that unit out of the hole (in front of the starter), and make sure the wire filter media in that contraption is clean. (Bottom side should have a perforated plastic cover that pops out - steel filter inside it). I've used a parts washer to clean mine, and I've also just replaced it with a super course copper scrubber that I found when it was just too destroyed/compacted to fix.

Once this is clean, wash all that oil off and it should be fine.
