If the gasket is simply seeping coolant to the outside of the block below
the exhaust manifold, a sealer such as GM Cooling System Sealer Tabs may be
effective.
But if you are getting combustion gases into the coolant I would be pretty
skeptical of an additive repairing it. In the early stages it is hard to
tell the difference between a leaking gasket and a cracked head. But if it
is the gasket it will get worse quickly, while a cracked head may leak for
a long time before getting really bad.
I know there are a couple of products which claim to permanently repair
cracked heads for about $100, which is a lot less than replacing the gasket
or the head, but I would want to see some real evidence that it would work
without ruining anything else.
