Roger,
I asked this very question not long ago. The easy way is to grind down a 3/8
short socket extension a little-it took me about 3 minutes with a dinky
little belt sander. Or you can get the nice official wrench from Brian Holm.

Subject: [Peugeot-L] Oil drain plug removal tool
Could someone please post some information about the
tool needed to extract the oil drain plug. I
understand it is an 8mm square-shaped tool. I was
told that it could be purchased from NAPA or Snap-On,
but I went to NAPA and searched Snap-On's website and
haven't had any luck.
If it is available at either of those places, I could
probably use some sort or part number or item
description, because whatever I'm saying to the people
working there isn't getting the message across.
Thanks for any help,
Roger H. Dana
