I haven't seen TTY bolts that can be reused. All Toyota TTY bolts the
factory recommends replacing. TTY bolts have a bad rap in turbo
applications as the added cylinder head pressure usually overpowers them at
some point. I view TTY bolts as entirely unsuitable for anything but mildly
boosted stock cars.
The only true fix is studs. And as I'm sure you're aware of, not just any
stud. Critical fastiners must be completely accurate or they're worthless.
Problem #1. Getting studs. No one has off-the-shelf ones. You'd have to
go custom with ARP. As a note, to accuracy, etc. when the studs and bolts
for the 7M-GTE Toyota inline six engine came out from ARP, they weren't 100%
accurate. And they made a ton of those engines. I'd be surprised if you
got perfect studs the first time for a N9T engine.
Problem #2. If you just run it putting water in it, you run the serious
risk of running dry. You only need to run dry at the point on the head and
you'll start to munch the head. You might make if it you had an iron head,
but if we're taking bets, I say you won't make it 200 miles.
No easy fix. If time and money are an issue, I'd do a stock R&R and don't
boost all the time. That goes for all N9T owners. Boosting hard runs the
engine on the ragged edge. It is always assumed that your engine is 100%
when boosting. Especially the cooling system. With an aluminum head and
iron block, you get no second chance. One overheat and 9 times out of 10,
your head gasket is toast. Turning up the boost is easy. If the factory
thought it was entirely safe to bost to 1 bar (14.5 lbs), it would cost
nothing to do so. But is isn't and they don't. They'd have to beef up the
engine accordingly. And the weak link is nearly always the sealing of the
cylinder head.
