Are you sure? I had heard somewhere that the Maserati Bi-turbo was a PRV.

1968, Citroen buy Maserati
1971 agreement to make PRV V6 engines
1974 Peugeot takes over Citroen
1974 First PRV V6
1975 Citroen pulls out of Maserati
1981 Maserati Bi turbo: All alloy 90° V6 from http://www.classicautoprints.com/history.html

Interesting reading. makes it seem quite possible that the contacts were there for Maserati to get hold of a PRV V6.
