Forgot to mention that with the car running, you can
spray carb or brake cleaner around the suspected
leaks
such as the base gasket, the throttle spindles,intake
gaskets, any connection to the intake, or any component
mounted to the intake (such as brake booster
hose-also check its checkvalve), and anyhing downstream
of the carb which would constitute unmetered
air(vacuum leaks), which means air added after the
carb which the carb therefore didn't get to measure
and add appropriate fuel to; but beware of getting it
on too hot of surfaces as there is a chance of fire.
