Hello,
Discovered today that the primary carb compensator jet has been
drilled out almost to the size of the bore (center hole)
the secondary had a 170 on it.
Is my understanding of the theory here correct in that a larger
compensator will result in a leaner mixture? and that a basically
missing (drilled out) compensator jet would result in a severe fuel
starvation?
if so I think I may have the answer. Will take a test drive with the
jets switched tomorrow night to see
I need a source for jets for this carb,at least to replace the
drilled one. Anyone have any to sell?
Also the spark plug insulating bakelite/cardboard tubes are not
present. The extenders and wires are new. Will the lack of
insulators cause the spark to ground? it doesn't seem like the car
misfires, only like it's 'choked back' with no power. Any thoughts?
thanks again,
Joe
