I met a guy at a birthday party last week and he ran his Opel Astra
(vauxhall Astra) at 50:50 for 1,5 years now and was fine. He was
thinking about running 25:75 during winter because of lower
temperatures.
There are people that built a heating system into their trunk to heat up
the fuel with a heater core. That way they run 100% veggie oil. How
Onabout that for a pollution free earth..........
I was driving behind a german bus Monday and it had a print on it that
said it ran on 100% veggie oil and boy could you smell it. It was as if
I was baking fries, then again, for the environment the government could
promote this. If they were really into the earth thing.... A great way
to reduce the influence of the Opec.
Cheers
Marco

Have you looked into making your own fuel? You might try this book:
>From the Fryer to the Fuel Tank
by: Joshua Tickell
I do not know how you can get around the fuel tax though, that's sad!

There is an active group of people over here (Netherlands) that are
driving on sunflower oil in their cars and they run about 50:50. Problem
is that it is illegal. Because there are no taxes and duties on
sunflower oil it is illegal to drive on it in your car.
Sure would love to try it thought.

Hello,
(among other things) I'm working on a "Survival
Project" to incorporate Vegetable Oil mix with
Diesel into the Talbot Horizon (XUD) and the Talbot
Tagora (X2DS);
Back in Paris at the moment, I tried to mix the Colza
oil within the Horizon, it works it has a Bosch
injector; up to the 1/4 ratio. I haven't tried
further.
According to my web site - http://tinyurl.com/dzy37
the injector seems to be Bosch DNOS D230 ( Horizon's
= DNOS D256)
Did you people ever tried any of these?
Questions asked to Mike Aube, Mike Murphy in the US
and Jurgen in Germany specifically.
Do you use such oil and/or is it available there?
And what is the pricing?
it is not available in France, only at .95 euros the
liter.
(the diesel is now topping the 1.3 euros per liter)
