The other week I put a new rocker cover gasket on the '85 Turbo and at
the same time I checked the valves. Glad I did as most were on the
tight side - PO replaced the head. While in there I noticed that the
front cover has a small crack beginning on the top face (rocker cover
face, at the boss for the left front rocker cover bolt.
I can't quite figure out what would cause this failure. Maybe over
tightening of the rocker cover bolt but that would be significant. Is
this a common point of failure?
Regards
John
