O.K. - I'm gonna reply & answer some question posed by August & Brian, I agree with Brian on the 89' wing, I think the earlier ones are much more subtle & fit the car nicley, I like even more the small little spoilers BMW used to put on the E30 chasis 3 series (late 80's . early 90's). Second to Brian also, actually you & TJ may be right with the number of 89's, I've seen a few at the shop over the years, probably not 5-6, but honestly maybe 3-4, there are a few V6 5 speeds that go there as well (87-89), The mechanic does alot of swaps from V6 motors into turbo cars because the clientelle are tired of the heads cracking, also they'll get an 86-88 Turbo & put the 89' body kit on them, that may be where I'm confused.
You guys are probably right, if I were to trick out a 505, I'd probably look for a 87 or 88, put on the 89' body kit then swap in the N9TEA motor so as not to deface an 89', I love modding but as long as they look the same on the outside, why kill a rare 89'?

As far as shops go here in SoCal, there are 4 that I know of. 1. DuBarr Automotive down in Huntington Beach, Orange County, 2. U.S. Foreign Auto Repair in El Monte (East L.A. area), 3. Rene's Automotive in Van Nuys San Fernando Valley, & an old Peugeot dealer that still does very few cars from timt to time in Santa Monica (this guy used to race Mi16's), I think Cerrone & Sons is up north somewhere.

DuBarr said they were gonna start phasing out there Peugeot work which is a shame because they have a really nice shop, Rene (French guy) has kind of a small establishment with a few doner cars out back (He used to work on a genuine 89' turbo 5 speed - a red one till it got ass-ended a few years ago - I even asked the lady if she'd sell it about a year before it was hit). The shop in Santa Monica is ridiculously small and nobody there is very enthusiastic about the cars, he wouldn't even participate in the car show we had a year ago nor would he let me put up flyers for his clientelle to see. The one in El Monte in my opinion is honestly the best one, it's run by a guy named Ukit, he's been a family friend for 40 years, he has a parking lot full of old pugs that he pulls parts from to help me out when I don't have the cash for new parts, every time I see him I make a day out of it even if it's only an oil change, we talk, eat lunch, he shows me how things work & whats wrong with them, he'll take them apart & explain things, draw it out for me on paper, ect. I grew up with his 2 sons, my dad even told me on one occasion with his 403 about 30 years ago, it had broken down out in the California desert, so he called Ukit & Ukit drove all the way out there & fixed it for him, now thats a mechanic you can trust!, they don't make em' like that anymore, when my car would be out of commision for a day or so, he'd lend me his own personal car or invite me to spend the night at his house with his family, where we'd eat, watch a movie, ect. I honestly don't know what I'll do when he's gone, he restores old cars Mercedes', Hummers, ect. He has an mechanical & electrical engineers mind, not just an automotive mechanics hand.  Anyway hope this helps.
