Fellows, I've been following your posts and have
found
them to be most informative, well researched, and
interesting. Regarding the gasoline comment, an
interesting personal anecdote-I went to my hair
cutter
for a haircut when he informed me that I had little
bald spots all over the back of my head. He queried
me about possible exposure to anything which may have
caused it; but since nothing came to light, he
concluded that I had a rare disease that had the same
symptons. Then I remembered that a very good customer
who had recently purchased a new 604 came into the
dealership with a trunk full of gas. Even though I
was
the sales manager at the time, since he was a good
customer and I was also a mechanic, I took off my
jacket, tucked my tie into my shirt, and climbed into
the trunk. It turned out to be a small hose had come
loose, so I tightened it and alleviated the problem.
However, in so doing, as I was on my back, my hair
fell down into the gas. I cleaned and dried my hair,
and when I got home that night, I washed it several
times. When I informed my hair cutter of this
incident
, he informed me that gasoline desolves hair , which
is protein. Our flesh is mostly protein also, so that
tells you about letting gasoline touch your skin. The
hair did grow back.
