Re: [Peugeot-L] Modifying a 505 was 18's on the pug

the bodywork is one thing, the only other difference is the torsen differential. To truly convert to an 89, you'd have to find a 89 505 turbo 5sp diff, which wouldnt be too easy ;)

..and yes, the torsen diff is absolutely amazing (over the open, or cone and spring style LSD)

Because there is no interest by the general public for a stock 505. At least a custom one may be different enough that some one that would buy a Honda would be interested.

But I cant even recover my cost for the part, Yep I just wanted to get what I paid.. I just had a 88 short block go for ONE dollar.

You cant find parts and they are not different enough to be collectible. Then they are nothing but old cars. I have Citroen DS.s so I know about no parts or service. And understand the labor of love to keep it running.

I also have a full body kit from a 89 V6. So some day I might make myself a 89 turbo with a 5 speed. And for under $1,500 I would have one of these "rare" cars. ( Or one that looks like it). So to Bastardize ( in some people mind ) a 505 is no financial risk. All the add ons can be unbolted and sold if the car blows up. The rims and paint alone on the gold 505 are probably worth more than the car itself. I am not slamming the Gold car I think it looks great and I amd 40 yrs old.

I really like the Diesel and will always own a Diesel with the fuel prices going up. I am not a Peugeot hater, I feel that every one here really does love the cars. But when it comes down to $$$$ it's a different story, we all freak out if we see a perfect 89 for 10 grand . We think that its over priced, But I guess that's why we have 505s because they are a nice car for a very small investment.
