I have to admire those who have gone to such efforts. Whoever sent his
links to the yellow turbo -- very impressive. Here I sit at the computer
contemplating I donıt even bother to wash the THING anymore because the
faded paint shows up so bad. Iıve seen to many [Macco?] type paint jobs
that look even worse. (Oh, I do hose off the underside several times a year
and wash the engine bay whenever I work on it ‹ should I drive with my hood
up?) Yet Iım not willing to invest the $3k it appears to take for a quality
job. So, I am following this thread for ideas to create a proud
presentation car on the cheap. (Yes, I have an air compressor and spray gun
I bought it 30 years ago to paint a fence, but the real payback has been
using the impact wrench and other air tools. No fences to paint anymore,
but I wouldnıt hesitate to replace it.) On the other hand, I feel I spend
enough time on the mechanical basics that Iıll just enjoy the ride
regardless of what anyone else (including my wife and daughters) think. If
Peugeot wanted to make an appearance impression, they would have gotten the
paint right; so Iıll follow their lead.
