I have an 85 wagon (TD, AT) that has been a very reliable daily
driver but now has a steering rack leak.
The engine is the STI turbo diesel (that's the bigger diesel used in
some of the sedans). This was completely (bottom up) rebuilt
including injection pump and injectors about 35k ago. Of corse it
runs extremely well and, being the STI is very strong.
I also have a full set of the 505 STI sport wheels and a couple of
boxes of parts that would go with it.
I'm afraid it's my last Peugeot but I just don't have time any more.
Give me a call if you are interested. I'd like $500 for it.

Here is a little more history:
Since doing the rebuild below, I've driven this about 35 or 40k
miles. Commute to work, ocasional trips from Seattle to Portland, or
Olympia. Just enough miles to keep it limber.
What works:
5 or 6 yr ago I decided to keep the car so I had Dave at Eurocar in
Portland, OR (where I lived then) remove the STI turbo diesel from my
daughter's 505 STI TD sedan (loved that car) along with many other
salvage parts. He completely rebuilt that engine (including injecton
pump and injectors), put in a new heater fan (which you can get to
best with the engine out), put in brand new firewall and hood sound
proofing padding...etc.. He also did a bunch of suspension work
(bushings, etc). And, of corse all hoses and belts.
It is (or was) a totally dry car.... no oil or fluid leaks until the
steering rack sprung a leak.
Power steering pump and hoses were rebuilt/replaced.
There are a few special tweeks like zert greasable bearings for the
idler pullys, aircraft plumbing for the AT, and a better quality
diesel fuel filter system.
I had it repainted at the time (paint is now passable but not great).
The interior is in good shape has no tears or stains.
What doesn't work:
The steering rack really leaks. When this started, I decided to move
on to a new car.
The AC is removed because it does not work.
There has been a "no load whine" in the rear end for years but the
sound has never changed and the fluid stays clean. Shop says keep
using it until the frequency or sound changes... it never has.
That's all I can think of for now.
