A friend of mine has a Renault Laguna 2.0 RT 1994 (M Reg) UK Phase 1 not 16 valve.
He has had a few problems with the auto box.
A few weeks ago it got stuck in kick down when he hit a bump as it was changing.
The other day it got stuck in 3rd gear. Still trying to identify model of gearbox fitted.
He has had the filter changed and the oil.
I have always had manual gearboxes but have seem many threads on the list about automatic gearboxes, so do not know much about them.
The garage has quoted in excess of £600 to repair the gearbox but could prove to be more.
They did say something about a faulty valve.
With many of the list members having more experience on auto boxes, I wondered if there was any advice you could give on what to check.
The garage also told him the auto box is only good for 120,000 miles and he has 197,000 on the clock.
This is all the info I know on the car at minute.
Also if anyone knows of good information sites on the web for Renault it would be appreciated.
