Steve,
The prices seem reasonable for parts cars, I think the last 86 gas T sedan
parts car Philippe and I got was $200 and we certainly got our money's
worth.
If you don't take them all please post their location/ contact so someone
can make use of the parts bfore they get crushed. It's just killing me to
see the cars in the junkyards get squashed before all the useful parts come
off them.
thanks,
Peat

Subject: [Peugeot-L] Need advice on purchase/anyone need a 505 gas turbo
parts car?

I went and saw the '81 505TD automatic today that had the problem
shutting itself off...the guy wants $500 but I think he will take a
little less. The car is ugly...faded pain, dent in pass door, steel
wheels with bald tires, and cracked windshield. It has 130K and runs
good for about 45 sec and shuts down. It was last tagged in 2001 and
he says it ran good before it was parked in the barn. Is that too
much and would this be a candidate for biodiesel? I don't think it's
worth completely restoring, but I wanted to try to make it a daily
driver...the inside looks pretty good.

He also has an '85 505 turbo gas with 5 speed...nice alloy 15's bad
paint, only one small dent. They got it new and said the turbo had a
recall on it and they had to have the dealer do some kind of
conversion on it...not sure what that was all about. It's been
sitting for several years and was running when it was put up. Has a
nice leather interior. He wants $200.

Also, a '86 505 turbo gas automatic with velvet interior. Nice alloy
15's and no rust or dents. It has some kind of cooler like a
radiator lying flat on top of the engine. He says it was running
when it was put up also several years ago. Both gas cars have
sunroofs (unknown if they work) and spoilers/fog lamps, etc. He
want's $200 for it too.

I guess I'm wondering what you guys think...are they worth the
money...to fix up or part out? I've never had a gas turbo and don't
know anything about them...

I heard the diesel run today, but not the gas cars...if for some
reason the engines have siezed, is it possible to free them? (I have
had luck freeking old cast iron engines, but nothing modern). Does
anyone need parts from any of these cars if I get them to part out?

He already scrapped out one and I hate to see these cars go like
that...

Just fishing for advice here, any comments will be appreciated.
