Hi-
The clock in my '87 505 STI went from working
perfectly two days ago to being barely visible
yesterday.
Here are the symptoms:
- Still keeps time
- Numbers dim, but still visible
- Illumination doesn't change at all when I turn on
the headlamps
Does this signal the end of my clock? Is it normal
for these clocks to dim, but not fail altogether? Are
there any good repairs other than replacement?
I've noticed new ones are quite expensive, so a good
repair solution would be great.
Also, what does it mean when buttons on the dash no
longer "click" into place? Specifically I'm asking
about my seat warmer buttons. Other buttons, like the
hazard and defroster, audibly "click" when engaged.
My seat warmer buttons just push back, but do not
click or seem to engage. Could this be why my seats
do not warm, or is this indicative of some other
problem with my seat warmers?
Any thoughts and/or ideas would be much appreciated,
Roger Dana
