I had a little time this weekend and decided to tinker with something that
has been bugging me about the 505 model. No cup holders!
I have been thinking about how was going to implement this, and decided that
the parking brake area made the most sense.
I rummaged around in my father's workshop until I found an old 2 inch pine
plank meant for a stair step. While rough it works. On my second prototype I
am going to reduce the size of it as it rubs too much. I am also going to
increase the bore of the holes and line them with neoprene or something
similar. Oh, and of course I am going to put a nice burl walnut stain on
it....

I originally was going to go the route of near the radio after seeing how
the Land Rover Discovery II accomplished this. (See the Disco II cup holders
here: http://www.roverconnection.com/Disco%202%20Acc/rcd2cup.htm)
Those still could work, but that is not the route I wanted to go.
