Hi,
Is there any visual resource for the types of head gasket kits that are used in various models of the 504 and 505 Turbodiesel engines? Also, the specifications of these engines, are they available as a data sheet or something at any site etc.,?
I ask this since there are two XD series engines (made under licence from Peugeot) used here in India by local company Mahindra for their UVs. If I can get the actual details, then I could possibly help people n the US and Canada (and elsewhere) with their XDs. The engines here are 2.1L and 2.5L. In local parlance, the 2.1L has been nomenclatured as XDP4.90, which, obviously is a concoction. Both engines are OHV and non-turbo. The parts are very cheap.
In other news, I have replaced all 4 pistons in my XUD9 at a cost of approx. USD 60.00 (total cost). The head and block have been re-faced and the whole things awaits re-assembly before getting into the car. Pics of the old head and new head are there in the '405 India Album' in the photos section.
