Anybody's XD2 should get better than 20 MPG. My 1980 505 SD shows 130K miles on the clock, but the engine block and cylinder head have the telltale yellow markings on them that make me think they came from a pick 'n' pull or something, so they could have way more. It uses about 1.5 quarts of oil per diesel fill-up (about 500 miles) but also gets a constant 32 MPG with 60 to 65 MPH freeway driving. Most of this it burns...the crankcase is vented to the atmosphere and the stock configuration of this vent is a short hose that dumps onto the ground under the engine compartment, the result of which is smoke curling out of the fender wells and other motorists gesturing towards the front of my vehicle as if it's on fire. I attached a length of garden hose to the stock vent and ran it out of the rear of the car, so now at least all the smoke comes out of the same place. If my old babbit-beater gets this good mileage, any Peugeot diesel should do as well or better!
