Nice car! What transmission does it have btw? If it's the
automatic, try to refrain from reving it in neuteral or park.
An internal fault will cause it to fry itself internally.
If it's the 5 spd, then don't worry, but one should not race a cold
engine much at all.
I read that is was in storage for 7 years, therefore the fuel is
probably weak and skunky, which would cause the poor running. Best
would be to burn most of what's left carfully (never push a turbo gas
motor with poor or low octane fuel, you could cause it much harm)
then fill it with the highest octane you can find and dump in a
bottle of injector cleaner at the same time.
For sure change the oil/ filter very soon as well, and work your way
to changing out all the fluids.
Change the spark plugs, use only WR7 DS bosch (silver) in that motor
and I bet you see a big improvment. Also make sure to lube up the
turbo's wastegate and check its operation. These tend to sieze up
with lack of use, and have the potential to blow the motor to bits.
Also check out www.505turbo.com. Good luck!

Same colour, same interior, same transmission. The car is great, I
just brought it home from Vancouver Island, and it drives great. The
best part is, that it's a one owner vehicle, with only 135,000
original kilometres! (that's about 83,000 miles!). The interior is
mint, the paint on the outside is oxidized in some places (mainly the
trunk), but it's a very solid car. The turbo performs great, the
engine has lots of power, no smoke, and it drives and brakes straight
as an arrow. I got it for $800, and I think I got a great deal.
However, there is a small problem...when you start it up, it idles
very rough and wants to stall, until it warms up a bit. I have to
keep my foot on the accelerator, and rev it at about 2000 rpm for
about a minute, and once it's warm it settles in at the right rpm.
Any ideas what I should check?
