If you keep the brake fluid fresh calipers can last many years
salt does get in and creep and screws them up eventually
Remove the acc cable from the throttle body and see which is stiff
I have always been very disappointed in the stock 405 headlights
Maybe some of the illegal 100 watt bulbs would help
Bob
PS including my 89 parts Mi16 I have 5 one a 91 that I haven't eevn seen yet

Subject: [Peugeot-L] 405 Mi16 - questions about brake caliper, accelerator, and how to improve dim lighting
Hey gang,
As a two-Mi16 man now, it's interesting to compare the
two.
First off, the '89 needs new front brake calipers as
east coast salt/grime has taken its toll. I've got
some on the way with a core charge so that I return
the old ones. Question: How often are brake calipers
refurbished?
Second, the '91 requires a much firmer push on the
accelerator...is this spring related? Cable related?
And thirdly, the '91, now complete with e-code
headlights has much better lighting performance than
the '89 (headlights are fantastic, in fact!)...from
the headlights to the interior dash lights. My '89
seems like it needs something...thus, is there a good
place to start? The alternator was replaced 4 years
ago with a rebuilt one...is there any additional
voltage regulator or something else that could help
improve the overall lighting performance (it also has
e-codes installed)? The '91 doesn't suffer from the
flickering battery light when the turn signal is on,
or anything like that.
All help is as always, greatly appreciated!
Best,
Paul
