Hi everyone,
With a new middle and rear exhaust system on the '91
OnMi16, the car starts out sounding perfect...after 15
minutes or so, it gets the same "pffttt" or even a
puttering buzz noise that it had before. Basically
right under the driver's seat....
I assume that now there wouldn't be a leak at the
cat...so either the cat gets loud as it gets hot, or
there is somewhere in front of the cat that has a
leak...
I replaced a rattly cat on my '89 that rattled after
it got hot. Is this the likely culprit again? Or an
issue at the exhaust downpipe (as I look at my Haynes
manual) My guess is yes. Ugh..and this means the
exhaust system was probably ok...
