1974 for Citroen (funny how it coincided with Peugeot buying them out), 1992 for Peugeot.

Evidently. And I can't figure out why: if they'd revamped themselves a bit and started selling Citroens again as the sporty brand, they'd probably be in the same position as Volvo or Saab are now.

Nope. Unfortunately, Peugeot pulling out of the US really meant 'pulling out of North America', so Canada never got them either.

What's weird is that I remember hearing about a bunch of Citroen dealer signs that arrived on the docks in Los Angeles around 1998/1999, but nothing more ever came of it. Maybe they were just in transit, but why unload them here?
