Finally aacquired a 604 TD -- A car I had been on the hunt for ever since I started collecting Peugeots in the US.

2 Owner, bought and serviced all its life in reading PA (rentschlers)
Metallic green (repainted)
Auto.
I had heard much about the legendary ride of the 604 and now have had the opp. to enjoy one since Sat. past. I must say, there was no exaggeration on the ride issue. It probably (no ,surely) has the original struts and shocks, and worn front tires, but still almost glides through surfaces that would travel right into the cabin in most mid-priced cars of today.
The lines on the 604, now that I am looking at it up close, have a timeless element to them. Simple, elegant and deservedly an auto design classic, like so many other French autos of the past.
Its going to be a daily driver until winter sets in. there are some rust spots (yes, including lower lip of wndshield opening) which I plan on having repaired soon.
I would appreciate it if other 604 owners could share some insight into keeping the 604 ageing gracefully. What are the vulnerable parts, what are the "hen's teeth" components? What are the chief 604 specific parts sources?

PS: It needs the trunk lift support struts? Any one familar with aftermarket products and #s for that application?
