The alternator is definitely not charging. Be sure that the Battery
warning light works when you turn the key to ON before starting. If it
does not, the alternator will not charge until you have revved the engine
to some fairly high rpm, probably 2500 to 3000. Once energized it would
continue working until you shut the engine down. You would need to reseat
or replace the warning light bulb or fix whatever else is wrong in that
circuit to get the alternator charging correctly.
If the light does work, and all the connections at the alternator are
tight, you probably need another alternator.
BTW, if that alternator is off an XN6, isn't the belt rather badly misaligned?
