Hydraulic or cable clutch?
Sounds like the clutch may not be releasing properly.
If it is a cable clutch, check the adjustment of the cable.
If it is a hydraulic clutch, you could try bleeding it (note: for
Peugeots, this often means using pressure from the front brake to force
fluid backwards through the clutch circuit) else it may be a clutch
master or slave cylinder problem. Any leaks?
